Coin scale of the Duchy of Berg, dated 1803. Made by Johann Caspar Mittelstenscheid, in a rectangular maple wood box with two punched brass clasps and the maker's label filling the inside of the lid. Branded at lower right: IUSTIRT. Recesses inside for scale and weights. The scale and five weights are missing. Also another beam balance, probably brass. Cf. Unshelm 156, very fine.
